Mr. Buttenshaw is currently a Managing Director with Pala Investments Limited. Mr Buttenshaw has over twelve years of direct mining experience and is a former Senior Mining Engineer at Rio Tinto Mineral’s borax operations, overseeing all aspects of mine planning at its US and international mining operations. Mr. Buttenshaw is currently a director of Sierra Rutile Ltd and has extensive experience advising Sierra Rutile (a UK listed rutile and ilmenite producer) on strategic mine planning, business improvement and project feasibility studies. Mr. Buttenshaw holds an MBA (with distinction) from the London Business School and a MEng (First Class) in Mining Engineering from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, and London.
Director & CEO
Mr McCauley has substantial mining industry experience including involvement in the development of several mining projects in Australia and Argentina as well as corporate turnarounds and organisational restructuring. Mr McCauley was a director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for Norton Goldfields Limited from Sept 2007 until Jun 2010 during which time he was also acting Managing Director for a nine month period of restructuring. Mr McCauley served as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for Felix Resources Limited, an ASX listed coal mining company, from Oct 2003 until Feb 2007 during which time it increased its’ market cap from $35 million to over $1 billion. Since 2014 Mr McCauley has been a director and CEO of Melior Resources Inc, a TSXV listed resources company. Mr McCauley has completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, holds an MBA from Bond University, and has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Queensland.
Mr. Tibriwal has more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience as well as broad experience in the resources sector. Mr. Tibriwal is a chartered accountant and earned an MBA in Finance from Newport University. Mr. Tibriwal is also a graduate from Mumbai University and spent 10 years at Ernst & Young, with the last four years as a partner before setting up his own financial consulting services group. Mr. Tibriwal was also formerly the chief financial officer of Carpathian Gold Inc. and Gravitas Financial Inc.
Mr. Lloyd is an experienced corporate finance adviser and has served as a director of a number of listed and unlisted companies in the minerals, energy and engineering services sectors. His board experience includes roles as Chairman, Chairman of the Audit Committee, Chairman of the Takeover Response Committee and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He is currently the non-executive Chairman of global engineering services company Ausenco Pty Ltd and a non-executive director of the Australian bauxite producer Metro Mining Limited. Mr Lloyd has also held senior executive roles with a number of Australian resource companies including RGC Limited where he was integrally involved in the merger of that company with Westralian Sands Limited to form Iluka Resources Limited in 1998. Mr Lloyd is based in Sydney, Australia.
Phil is head of the Technical and Operations Team at Pala, with oversight of all technical matters relating to Pala’s investments. Phil has over 20 years’ experience in mining projects globally, focusing on operations, design and consulting. He joined Pala in early 2014, and has been directly involved in operations and development projects with several portfolio companies by being the COO and a board member for both Sierra Rutile Limited and Nevada Copper Corp. Prior to joining Pala, Phil worked for AMEC Americas as Vice President for Process Engineering. In this role, Phil was primarily responsible for the function and growth of the Process Engineering group for projects and studies. He managed a number of major projects for Anglo Gold Ashanti, Vale, Freeport-McMoRan and Teck Cominco. Previously he worked in operational, managerial and technical roles for BHP Billiton, WMC Resources, Glencore (Murrin Murrin) and Wiluna Gold, gaining exposure to various commodities, including nickel (sulfides and laterites), copper, gold and fertilizers. Phil graduated from Murdoch University in Australia, with a B.Sc. in Metallurgy/Chemistry and is a Fellow member of the Australian institute of Metallurgy (FAusIMM).
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Mattiske has over 15 years of financial experience working for private and public companies in the mining, engineering and technology industries. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the business and assets of the Company having been involved with the Goondicum Project since 2012. Mr Mattiske graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney and has completed the CPA Australia program.
